Hilton Lake Como: chill & foody summer

It is a positive start to the summer for Hilton Lake Como. The hotel has already been working at full capacity since April, especially regarding the restaurant offer.

"We have noticed a strong recovery since the last easing of restrictions" says Alessio Colavecchio, General Manager of Hilton Lake Como.

"Hotel guests, as well as external customers, are asking for innovative and efficient services, cutting-edge culinary proposals, a vibrant atmosphere able to restore serenity and joy".

These have always been the ingredients of Terrazza 241. "We continue with live music entertainment every evening, a barbecue show cooking station, new cocktails to satisfy all tastes and a fresh new menu, signed by Executive Chef Alessandro Ramella", continues Colavecchio.

A colourful lounge for happy moments

But the big news for Terrazza 241 is the new Pink Summer Lounge, opened from Tuesday to Sunday, specifically for aperitifs and after dinner.

The space has been designed to meet the high summer demand for this type of service by creating an even more informal and festive environment. The hotel's sundeck is transformed into an explosion of colours and furnishings in the evening, after 8 p.m., with comfortable seating in shades of peach pink, ultramarine blue and cornflower blue.

The furniture, signed by Nodo Italia, have been designed by Leolori, esclusively for the most famous rooftop in Como. Their shape and size make it easy to socialise and relax, and make even more enjoyable the time spent in the company of others admiring the view, sipping an excellent drink by Bar Manager Vincenzo Sulmona. This summer, the great classics of Terrazza 241 Smoked Negroni and The Sphere, will be joined by pinky proposals, such as the Pinky Colada with the addition of beetroot juice, or the Queen Elizabeth: the heady fragrance of Pink Gin and the lightness of lavender are elegantly interwoven with the sweetness of the perfumes and the vivacity of the bubbles, one of the most popular cocktails at Buckingham Palace.

Terrazza 241: signature restaurant

Terrazza 241 therefore further strengthens its presence as a restaurant with classic service, for lunch and dinner, and with a delicate, light cuisine, perfect for summer, that winks at some classics of Italian cuisine reinterpreted in a modern key. An example is the main dish Il giorno e la notte (Day and night), where the pastry meets the black of the cuttlefish and the gold, in a surprising dish thanks to the buttered scallops placed between the two layers of pasta. Menus are created with strict respect for seasonality and raw materials. An undeniable source of inspiration is the lake and its surroundings, the subject of many excursions by Executive Chef Ramella. In his Pasta Roll, the chef has chosen a bed of lake botanicals to complement the dish, his homage to the Lario. However, tasty dishes of international cuisine are not ignored, to make each guest feel at home. Try Il mare in un fritto flavoured with gin lemon sauce or the much-loved Grilled Octopus, both crispy and tender.

StreetFood and family offer

The latest news concerns the new pop-up StreetFoodBar concept  that will be created in the terraces on the ground floor and will become an alternative to Terrazza 241 for both hotel guests and locals. Characterized by an informal atmosphere, it will be not only an ideal destination for families, but also for those who want to follow the various sporting events of which the summer of 2021 will be very rich.

A white and red Ape-pizza will be positioned at the entrance of the hotel thanks to the collaboration with “L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele”, the renowned and historic Neapolitan pizzeria that makes tradition and the selection of natural ingredients its greatest pride. Nominated in the Michelin and Espresso Guides, it has recently been awarded as the best artisanal pizza cellar in the world. The classic wagon wheel pizza, tasty and inviting, which satisfies both the eye and the palate, will be offered in different regional variations in the name of simplicity and genuine taste: a real culinary journey through the Bel Paese.

A selection of gourmet burgers and trendy poke bowls complete the offer to meet the favour of those who love a tasty but light cuisine.

In short, there is something for everyone at the Hilton Lake Como!
